Nottingham’s annual celebration of the contribution of people seeking sanctuary to our society begins with its launch at Sneinton Market on Saturday 17th June from 11.00am. There will be music and food as well as stalls and information about what it means to be a person seeking sanctuary.
The theme this year is compassion and together we can create a shared understanding of compassion and ensure we can extend it widely to friends and family as well as people seeking sanctuary in this country. We are facing a dangerous and ill conceived anti migration rhetoric from the Government and are witnessing a rise in far right activity alongside the inhumane treatment of people seeking sanctuary in this country.
We have a whole week of activities ranging from 5 a side football to book launches, films, food and music sand we do hope you can make it along to at least one event.
