How can we support refugees, migrants and undocumented people and create welcoming communities?

This online event supports the launch of Civic Leicester’s innovative anthology, Poetry and Settled Status For All, published January 2022, described as “powerful and thought-provoking”.

Poets reading at the event include Aryan Ashory, Sheena Bradley, Laura Grevel, Kevin Jackson, Ambrose Musiyiwa, Manjit Sahota, Lytisha Tunbridge, Gail Webb, and Gregory Woods.

There will be an open mic section (contact Gail Webb on [email protected] to pre-book), priority given to those with lived experience of migration, asylum or settled status issues.

As part of the evening, there will also be a short presentation from the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum on the challenges people seeking refuge are experiencing in the UK and what needs to be done to build a decent and humane asylum system.
