‘An event to mark the launch of A Life Robbed by Faith Gakanje. Inspirational speakers from refugee communities will discuss the hostile and complex UK asylum environment and its implications for people seeking sanctuary, including the unexpected challenges they face: language barriers, cultural norms, social isolation, destitution, homelessness, public misconceptions, race and gender discrimination. Live dance music, a fashion show and art works will raise awareness of refugee plight.’
